Brother David E. Thompson., 320 is a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and attended the public schools of Orangeburg county district five. After graduating from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, he joined the United States Army where he served for twelve years. David served as a highly distinguished noncommissioned officer and received numerous medals and awards completing his career with an honorable discharge. In 1992, he joined Orangeburg Department of Public Safety and began his career as a police officer and firefighter. He is a graduate of both the South Carolina Criminal Justice and the South Carolina Fire Academies. He holds an Associate of Business Management, a Bachelor of Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University. He has completed an additional 92 college credit hours in Military Science and Public Service. He has received several promotions within the department to include Corporal, Detective, Detective Sergeant and he currently serves as an Administrator (Lieutenant/Sector 3 Commander) in the Patrol division. He also serves as an Adjunct Professional Skills Instructor at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College where he develop and teach short courses in supervisor skills, soft skills, business etiquette and leadership to local manufacturing and service businesses in the Orangeburg community.   

 

 

 

Bro. Thompson was raised a Master Mason in Bullswamp Lodge # 312. He has served as Worshipful Master of Bullswamp # 312, High Priest of White Hall # 9, Commander in Chief of Orangeburg Consistory # 5, Associate District Deputy for the Hardy District, Grand High Priest of Palmetto Grand Royal Arch, and is currently serving as Grand Master for the Most Worshipful Palmetto Grand Lodge. Bro Thompson is a member of Delta Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Bro. Thompson is an optimistic visionary and allows the Lord to “Order his steps”. He is married to the former Cynthia Amaker and they are proud parents of two All-American children, Dohnte and Devohnte and one grand daughter Synaya.
