J. Lewis
was born in Biloxi, MS in
1972, and currently serves as
the 14th Grand Master of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Mississippi.
He graduated from Biloxi High School in 1990, and has a Bachelor of Science from
the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS with an emphasis
in Accounting and

Bro. Lewis began his Masonic career at Golden Square #24 in Biloxi, MS in 1993. Bro. Lewis’ grandfather, father and brother were all members of Golden Square. Bro. Lewis was Arched in Carter Chapter #2 in Biloxi in 1994 and dubbed a Sir Knight in 1995 in Commandery #1 in Moss Point. He was received into Royal Consistory #1 in Moss Point in 1997 and joined Mecca Temple of Shriners the same year. He is Past Master of Loyce Searight Masonic Lodge of Jackson, MS and New Jerusalem Masonic Lodge of Jackson. He is also an honorary member of Booker T. Washington #534 in Atlanta, GA. He has served the Grand Lodge as Grand Treasurer (1997-1998), Grand Junior Warden (1998-1999), Grand Secretary (2000-2002). He was elected Grand Master in 2004. He has served as Recorder for the Southwest Regional Grand Masters Council as well as Recorder for the National Grand Masters Council. He was elected Imperial Recorder for the Imperial Council of Shriners in 1999, a post he still holds. He was appointed as the National Grand Lodge Historian in 2002, and as of late was elected to the position of National Grand Senior Warden for the M.W. National Grand Lodge. Bro. Lewis has a love for his son (Cedric Jr.), and the rest of his family. In his spare time he enjoys reading esoterics, motorcycles and making new friends. He is a true traveling man who lives the creed “Friendship is Essential to the Soul."
